Question by Avelyn: What does a Chevy Corvette Coupe LT1 6.2L V8 430 HP engine sound like?
Is it a LOW rumble or more of a bumble-bee kind of sound?
Does the size of the engine determine that, or is it specific to the actual car? Can I generalize based on HP or if it’s a V6 or V8?

It’s a low rumble
A Honda Civic would be a bumble bee.

It sounds like this- BWAAAAAA!!!!
FYI-
The LT1 was a 5.7L, not a 6.2, there’s never been a 6.2 in a corvette (note I said “never been,” smartass guy below me). LT1′s also weren’t 430 hp. I assume you’re talking about the LS7.
Sound is kind of specific to the engine design, but generally, 4 cylinders sound the same, V6′s sound the same, etc. Cylinder layout has more to do with the sound than anything else.
And you can’t guess any engine size based solely on horsepower, it’s impossible.
The LT1 is not a 6.2L engine. The LT1 is a 5.7L engine and is rated at 300 hp. To correct someone else, the 2009 ZR1 will have a 6.2L LS9 engine and will be rated somewhere in the neighborhood of 620 hp.
Another poster below is correct the 2008 vette does come standard with a 6.2L 430 hp V8, which is called an LS3 engine.
If you want to know what a Corvette engine sounds like, go to a Chevy dealer and have them start one up for you or locate a clip on Youtube.
its newer so it sounds like “bumble bee”, a car isnt neccasarily loud my friends honda is louder than a lambo
There is a trim version of the 2008 Corvette called the LT1. This is not the engine. The engine is a 6.2 liter LS3. It does have 430 horsepower and it sounds like a low rumble.
It’s all about the exhaust….anything over 300 horses…sounds different than your usual ecobox with 200 horses at best…a V6 with a tuned up exhaust and bigger high grade pipes can sound off but compared to a 5.7 litre V-8 from GM….only the Ford Cobra jet or Hemi are more potent..but then GM got the 427, 502, and 540 in after market….basically the proof is under the hood, the stats..0 to 60 and quarter mile runs…just becuz a car sounds fast…that dose’nt mean it is…also, the weight of the car is a factor..the lighter the car..the faster it goes with a bigger engine.
It sounds like, Runnnn run runrun runrun run. And the cam, mufflers and other little things give it the sound.
a motor is simply a air pump, the larger the motor the more air it moves.
i found a vette with some sweet sounds.
